Activities

The Stokesville Lodge is adjacent to the George Washington National Forest. It is the epicenter of the Harrisonburg IMBA Ride Center and offers thousands of miles of scenic roads and challenging trails right out the front door. Maps of the area are provided for your use at the Stokesville Lodge and can be used for both hiking and bicycling. GPS tracks of certain routes can be provided by special request.

Additional Outdoor Activities

Todd Lake has a sandy swimming beach five miles away. Natural Chimney has a public swimming pool four miles away. Both are fee areas.

Fishing – Elkhorn Dam, Braley Pond, Briery Branch Reservoir, and Hearthstone Lake are stocked regularly. There are also many pristine mountain streams to fish. Special regulation fly fishing is available on nearby Mossy Creek.

Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway make for a very scenic automobile or bicycle trip.

Massanutten Four Seasons Resort is about 1 hour away and has a water park open year round. Winter skiing and snow tubing. Golf is weather permitting.

The Shenandoah River offers good canoeing and fishing.

Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away and offers amazing hiking.

Historic

Staunton has a very historic downtown and is known as “the Birthplace of America’s Presidents.”

Civil War attractions are all about the Shenandoah Valley.
